Location: Blackfen, Sidcup

This course will teach you all the techniques required to offer a luxury manicure service to your clients. You will learn how to correctly shape the nail, safe cuticle treatments, the use of exfoliating, relaxing massage techniques and flawless application of polish. To further enhance your service, you will learn how to carry out paraffin wax, masks and heated mitts treatments.

The course content

Salon Health, Safety & Hygiene
Anatomy and Physiology Nail structure, bones of hand
Understand contra indications that prevent/restrict manicure treatments
Be able to carry out manicures
Nail disorders/diseases
Preparation of work area
Perfect polish
Be able to consult, plan, prepare for manicure treatments with clients
Be able to provide aftercare advice for clients

Our diploma courses are suitable for complete beginners and do not require any prior learning to be able to train with us; many of our students are not yet beauty trained and are looking to start up a business in the industry. We welcome students of all abilities, whether you are looking to learn a new skill from scratch or currently working as a therapist and looking to refresh your knowledge of particular treatments.

Pre-course details

Please note you will be required to give and receive treatments as part of the course and therefore will need to attend the course free from Gel Polish or Nail Extensions.

All products and tools are provided for the training day at the Centre when you attend. No kit is required to complete the training day.

Models

For this course it is necessary that you provide 1-2 models on the day of your course. (A fee will be charged for the treatment). If for any reason you are unable to provide your own models, please contact the academy to have them try and arrange them for you.

Qualification:

When you have successfully completed your training course(s), you will receive a diploma certificate issued by SJC Training Academy and accredited by ABT. This not only demonstrates your commitment to the training, but also allows you to obtain Public Liability insurance so you can start offering treatments to paying clients from home or mobile.
