A traineeship is an education and training programme which incorporates work experience, preparing young people for their future careers by helping them to become ‘work ready’. Designed for people aged 16 to 24 who don’t yet have the appropriate skills or experience, traineeships provide the essential work preparation training, English, maths and work experience needed to secure an apprenticeship or employment.
Adult education budget funds the delivery of education and training to learners aged 19+. This aims to engage adults and provide the skills and learning need to progress into work. To be fully funded for their course, 19+ learners have to specific criteria. Means tested benefits such as Universal Credit or Legacy benefits. Proof of benefit is required.
An Apprenticeship offers the opportunity to gain a nationally, increasingly internationally, recognised set of qualifications through practical training on and off the job. Apprentices gain job-specific skills, work alongside experienced staff whilst earning a wage.
The Advanced Learner Loan is a government-funded loan to help learners. It’s easy to apply for, doesn’t take your household income into account and doesn’t involve a credit check – This is for Level 3 qualifications and above only.
Debut Academy Training Ltd – Sidcup offers fully funded apprenticeship schemes for NVQ Level 2 & 3 Beauty Therapy and Nail Technology for 16 -18 year olds who are in a work placement. We also have an apprenticeship scheme for 19 years upwards, which required a percentage to be paid to the government towards the course.
Employers are eligible for Government incentives when partaking in our apprenticeship scheme, which is approximately 12 – 18 months depending on the qualification. Debut Training Academy Ltd is also able to provide 19+ advanced loans; this is Government Funding for VTCT NVQ/VRQ in the following courses:
All of these Government funded courses are for students who are:
Aged 19 or over at the start of your course; have been living in the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man for 3 years immediately before starting your course.
Applying for the advanced loan doesn’t depend on your income and credit checks aren’t carried out. Repayments are based on your annual income and you will not be required to repay any of the loan for the course if you do not earn a wage over the threshold of £26,725. If you earn over this threshold your repayments will be £15 a month.
