Our one-day advanced day course is an ideal course to start as a nail technician offering an acrylic system that is very simple to apply, natural looking, strong and flexible. It can be applied as an overlay over natural nails to add strength, or over a tip to extend the nail.

Starting from the basics we’ll cover topics including; acrylic overlays, full set extensions using our beautiful cover powder, body zone application for integrated strength and filing techniques that will make finishing your set a dream! We will also show application of coloured acrylics.

You will learn the theory of nail anatomy and physiology, correct natural nail preparation and care. Following your successful application, we’ll then show you how to maintain your client’s nails and when necessary remove them safely protecting the natural nail.

Understand contra indications that prevent/restrict the application of acrylic nails
Be able to consult, plan & prepare for acrylic nail treatments with clients

Be able to carry out an acrylic nail application
Be able to provide aftercare for clients

Our diploma courses are suitable for complete beginners and do not require any prior learning to be able to train with us; many of our students are not yet beauty trained and are looking to start up a business in the industry. We welcome students of all abilities, whether you are looking to learn a new skill from scratch or currently working as a therapist and looking to refresh your knowledge of particular treatments.

Pre-course details

It is recommended that you have completed a Manicure course prior.

As you will give and receive treatments as part of this course, it is important you arrive free from nail extensions and Gel Polish in order to complete this course.

Models

For this course it is necessary that you provide 1 models on the day of your course. (A fee will be charged for the treatment.) If for any reason you are unable to provide your own models, please contact the academy to have them try and arrange them for you.

Qualification

When you have successfully completed your training course(s), you will receive a diploma certificate issued by SJC Training Academy and accredited by ABT. This not only demonstrates your commitment to the training, but also allows you to obtain Public Liability insurance so you can start offering treatments to paying clients from home or mobile.
